Extra! Extra! Read all about it! What's gone from vacation favorite to this season's staple? The short.
This cute and cozy summer trend can be traced back to the Spring/Summer 2013 runways of Hermes, Paul & Joe and Fendi. Designers are offering such pretty takes - from solid tones to ethereal prints to playful patterns - on a practical item for these warmer temperatures. My outfit of the day features a pair of shorts adorned with peruvian texture, a tribal but tailored looking top and nude kitten heeled sandals.

P.S. All you trivia buffs, did you know that "Extra! Extra! Read all about it!" is a phrase traced back to the first newspapers? Newsboys (not the Christian band from the 90s) would shout to draw in passersby when the publisher of the daily paper also came out with an Extra. You'll never guess where I scored these shorts - a random thrift store in Arcadia, California! What a thrift store find! The top is from the incredible and creative JCrew. The shoes are from Island Passage years ago, and I just can't seem to part from them yet.
